Satish Jarkiholi, a prominent Karnataka Minister and the working president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), has firmly stated that he currently has no intention of traveling to New Delhi for political reasons. He explained that while official visits to the national capital are common for administrative purposes, involving meetings with relevant ministers and incidental interactions with party high command, these should not be interpreted as politically motivated trips.
Speaking to reporters in Hukkeri, Belagavi district, on Monday, Jarkiholi addressed the circulating rumors directly. He emphasized that there have been absolutely no internal party discussions regarding a change in the KPCC leadership. He added that he has not been approached by anyone to take on the responsibility of KPCC president, but he would consider it if the discussion were to arise.
When questioned about a reported meeting between All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge and the current KPCC president D.K. Shivakumar, Jarkiholi indicated he had no information about such an event. He reiterated that any significant discussions with senior leaders would be acknowledged if and when they happen.
Furthermore, the Minister confirmed his unawareness of any impending Cabinet reshuffle or expansion plans. Regarding a statement by a Bihar leader proclaiming D.K. Shivakumar as Karnataka’s next Chief Minister, Jarkiholi dismissed it as typical enthusiasm from a supporter, suggesting it was likely just an ardent fan expressing their hopes.
