Karnataka has proudly secured a significant national award, being recognized for its exceptional leadership in wind energy development. The state achieved the highest under-construction wind capacity for the 2024–25 period, a testament to its ambitious strides in sustainable energy. This esteemed honor was bestowed during Windergy India 2025, the nation’s premier wind energy event, which convened in Chennai.
The prestigious award was formally accepted by T.D. Raje Gowda, MLA and Chairman of the Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL), alongside K.P. Rudrappaiah, the Managing Director of KREDL. They received the accolade from Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and New and Renewable Energy.
During his address at the inauguration of the Karnataka pavilion, Minister Joshi applauded the state’s forward-thinking renewable energy policies. He highlighted the critical importance of collaboration, stating, "When government and industry unite, we can truly reach extraordinary milestones in the renewable energy sector. This partnership exemplifies how collective effort can drive innovation, expand our energy capabilities, and forge a sustainable future for our nation."
Echoing these sentiments, Karnataka Energy Minister K.J. George emphasized that this award clearly demonstrates the state’s unwavering dedication to fostering clean energy solutions and promoting sustainable development across the region.
