The triumphant team is currently in Mumbai and will soon fly to the national capital for their much-anticipated Wednesday meeting with the Prime Minister. Following their resounding success, Prime Minister Modi took to X to share his congratulations, hailing the win as “spectacular” and commending the players’ unwavering determination and unity. “A spectacular win by the Indian team in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 Finals. Their performance in the final was marked by great skill and confidence. The team showed exceptional teamwork and tenacity throughout the tournament. Congratulations to our players. This historic win will motivate future champions to take up sports,” Modi wrote in his message. While the team savors their success, administrative discussions are ongoing regarding further celebrations. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to finalize plans for a grand victory parade. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia stated on Monday, “Nothing like a victory parade is planned as of now. I’m leaving for Dubai to attend the ICC meetings. Several senior officials are heading there as well, so once we return, we will plan accordingly.” With key BCCI officials attending ICC meetings from November 4 to 7 in Dubai, decisions on felicitation ceremonies and parade arrangements are expected upon their return. In recognition of their outstanding achievement, the BCCI has already announced a significant cash reward of ₹51 crore for the players and support staff.
