Following the announcement that Deepika Padukone would not be part of the Kalki 2898 AD sequel, a clip circulating online has led to speculation that her name was removed from the film’s end credits on OTT platforms. This development has stirred considerable discussion among fans and netizens.
The production house, Vyjayanthi Movies, had previously stated that they were ‘unable to find a partnership’ with Deepika Padukone for the sequel, a decision that surprised many given her significant role in the first installment, which also starred Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan.
A viral video clip purporting to show the end credits of Kalki 2898 AD on an OTT platform ignited a strong reaction online. Many viewers expressed disappointment and criticized the move as unprofessional. Comments ranged from calls of ‘downright unprofessional’ to suggestions that it might be an attempt to appease male egos or even use AI to alter her appearance in future versions.
However, a fact-check reveals that Kalki 2898 AD is indeed available on major streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video. Upon reviewing both versions, it’s confirmed that Deepika Padukone’s name is clearly visible in both the opening and end credits. She is listed among the main cast, appearing early in the film’s credits and also second in the end credits sequence, following Amitabh Bachchan.
Meanwhile, Deepika Padukone is gearing up for her next project, King, where she will co-star with Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan.
