In a dazzling display of football prowess, Bengaluru FC (BFC) absolutely dominated Gokulam Kerala FC (GKFC), securing a commanding 4-0 victory in their AIFF Super Cup Group C fixture at Margao’s PJN Stadium this Sunday. The star of the show was undoubtedly Ryan Williams, whose exceptional performance saw him net two goals and set up another, with Vinith Venkatesh and the legendary Sunil Chhetri also finding the back of the net.
Bengaluru FC wasted no time making their mark, breaking the deadlock in just the seventh minute. A brilliant through pass from Sirozhiddin Kuziev found Williams, who skillfully bypassed defender Harpreet Singh to slot the ball into the bottom-left corner.
Just before halftime, BFC extended their lead. Taorem Kelvin Singh’s intelligent cut-back was expertly guided into the net by Vinith. The second half began with similar intensity, as Nikhil Poojary set up Williams, who unleashed a powerful strike to make it 3-0.
The Blues were determined to match the goal difference of provisional group leaders Punjab FC, and their efforts paid off after the hour mark. Sunil Chhetri, in a superb overlapping run with Braian Sanchez, converted from close range to secure their fourth goal.
