Communist Party of India (CPI) General Secretary D. Raja has called upon the Election Commission of India (EC) to ensure the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is strictly enforced throughout Bihar. This urgent plea follows the recent murder of Dularchand Yadav in Mokama, an incident that has raised significant concerns about the upcoming elections.
Currently in the state to campaign for the forthcoming Assembly elections, Mr. Raja emphasized the critical importance of conducting peaceful and fair polls. He asserted that preventing all forms of violence is absolutely essential to safeguard the integrity of India’s democratic process.
Dularchand Yadav, a dedicated supporter of Jan Suraaj candidate Piyush Priyadarshi, tragically lost his life during the ongoing election campaigning.
“During election periods, maintaining robust law and order is paramount. Any form of violence, regardless of who perpetrates it, must be stopped. Elections ought to be conducted peacefully and justly, and the Election Commission bears the responsibility to ensure rigorous compliance with the Model Code of Conduct,” stated Mr. Raja.
