Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi has strongly criticized Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for allegedly using “objectionable language” against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kharge had previously referred to the Prime Minister as ‘jhooton ke sardar’ (leader of liars) during a press conference in Patna.

Speaking to reporters, Trivedi presented data showcasing Bihar’s economic advancements under the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) rule. He stated that the state’s per capita income surged from ₹6,900 to ₹67,000, while the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) grew from ₹23,000 crore to ₹3.17 lakh crore. Furthermore, he highlighted the near-complete electrification of households, rising from 22% to 100%.
Trivedi questioned Kharge’s claims, asking if these development figures were considered lies. He alleged that leaders from the INDIA bloc are suffering from a “paradox,” pointing to past praise from former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for Bihar’s development in 2013. Trivedi also noted the inconsistency in Congress leaders’ statements, with some initially acknowledging the Union Budget’s focus on Bihar, only to later claim the state received nothing.
The BJP leader characterized the Congress’s behavior as a tendency to “change colours over time,” with lying being their only constant. He metaphorically stated, “Those suffering from night blindness have no cure,” referring to the INDIA bloc leaders’ alleged inability to see Bihar’s progress.
Trivedi emphasized that Bihar’s development is “as clear as a mirror,” citing the presence of two AIIMS, multiple IITs, and plans for a medical college in every district.
He also addressed allegations that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had dismissed the Chhath festival as “drama,” stating that “Chhathi Maiyya will teach them a lesson in this election.” Trivedi concluded by expressing confidence that voters in Bihar would reject “certified liars” and those accused of corruption, opting instead for the “time-tested duo of Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi.”
