Bihar Election 2025 LIVE: As the campaign trail for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections reaches its final day, prominent political figures from both the NDA and Mahagathbandhan alliances are converging in the state for crucial rallies. Notable attendees include Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President J.P. Nadda, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to engage with women workers from the BJP-led NDA as part of the party’s ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’ initiative. He announced on social media platform X that this interaction would take place at 3:30 PM, emphasizing the significant role of women’s energy and commitment in ensuring the BJP-NDA’s victory.
On the preceding Monday, Prime Minister Modi, Amit Shah, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi all held rallies in Bihar. Prime Minister Modi critiqued the Congress for aligning with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as the opposition’s chief ministerial candidate, while Amit Shah predicted a significant defeat for the India Bloc on November 14.
Congress chief Kharge pointed out Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s absence from Prime Minister Modi’s rallies and reiterated claims that the BJP would not reappoint him as Chief Minister. Priyanka Gandhi added that under the NDA, “Bihar does not have any voice,” and suggested that even the state’s Chief Minister lacks influence in key decisions.
NDA and Mahagathbandhan Manifestos
The ruling NDA’s manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra,’ outlines a plan to create 10 million jobs, with a focus on education, healthcare, infrastructure, and women’s empowerment. The alliance pledges financial assistance of ₹10 lakh to Extremely Backward Classes and ₹2,000 monthly to Scheduled Caste students pursuing higher education, along with a guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers.
The INDIA bloc, aiming to capitalize on anti-incumbency sentiment, has promised government jobs for at least one member of every family in the state through its ‘Tejashwi Pratigya Pran’. They also plan to provide women with financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month starting December 1 for the next five years and intend to place the Waqf (Amendment) Bill on hold.
