During the latest ‘Weekend Ka Vaar’ episode of Bigg Boss 19, host Salman Khan didn’t hold back in calling out Tanya Mittal and Neelam Giri for their body-shaming comments directed at Ashnoor Kaur. Upon learning about the remarks made against her, Ashnoor became visibly emotional. She opened up about her long-standing struggles with body image issues, revealing that she experienced hormonal imbalances that caused bloating, particularly during stressful times. Ashnoor candidly shared that during her teenage years, she even developed eating disorders and resorted to starving herself. She mentioned that she had lost a significant amount of weight before entering the Bigg Boss house, but the stressful environment caused her body to bloat again, a common reaction for some people under pressure.
Ashnoor directly addressed Tanya, stating, “I gain weight. I have not even touched junk since I was 14 years old and have been in front of the camera. Even here, everyone tells me to eat more. But everyone has a different body. If you are coming to this platform, call yourself a spiritual influencer and say you take care of people, and then you go on body-shaming me behind my back, you are not saying this only to me, but to all the audience who have issues with their body. So shame on you, Tanya.” She emphasized that judging others’ bodies is unacceptable, especially from someone positioning themselves as a spiritual guide.
Later, in a private conversation with Pranit, Ashnoor further elaborated on her past struggles. She admitted that during her teenage years, her body weight fluctuated, and the camera can make anyone look heavier. She confessed to times when she only drank water and starved herself because she was unhappy with her appearance in the mirror, even avoiding social outings and wearing certain clothes due to body consciousness. Ashnoor mentioned that she had never shared these deeply personal struggles with anyone, not even her parents.
The episode also highlighted the specific comments made by Tanya and Neelam. Tanya had reportedly remarked that Ashnoor looked like her mother in a video shown on the show, while Neelam questioned Ashnoor’s weight loss efforts despite daily exercise. They also commented that they would have looked better in Ashnoor’s outfits. During a task, Tanya was even seen pushing Ashnoor and calling her an “elephant.” Salman strongly condemned Tanya’s immature behavior and her repeated body-shaming remarks throughout the week. Although Tanya initially claimed not to remember her comments, she eventually apologized to Ashnoor after Salman threatened to show the footage. Salman also addressed Kunickaa Sadanand for not intervening and for making a comment about her granddaughter’s eating habits, further trivializing the issue.
