Embark Studios has just kicked off an exciting, free open test for their highly anticipated PvPvE extraction shooter, Arc Raiders. This “server slam” event is a crucial step for the studio to rigorously test their servers ahead of the game’s official release on October 30.
Players can jump into the “server slam” right now until October 19 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store). While some players might experience a slight delay with the Steam client appearing, it’s being rolled out in waves, so keep an eye out!
During this free test, participants will get to explore the Dam Battleground map and try out the game’s progression, crafting, and quest systems. For Embark Studios, this event is all about ensuring a smooth server experience when the full game launches.
As a special bonus, everyone who participates in the “server slam” will receive the exclusive “Server Slammer” backpack cosmetic reward when the full game arrives on October 30. Please note that any progress made during this test will not carry over to the final game.
Embark Studios was founded by a talented team of industry veterans, including former longtime EA and Battlefield executive Patrick Soderlund. Arc Raiders, which will be a $40 title, is making its debut shortly after EA’s Battlefield 6 launched on October 10 to a massive reception.
Set in a futuristic world, Arc Raiders challenges players to venture from their underground shelters to the surface to battle “Arc” robots, gather resources, and engage in intense combat. For a closer look at the action, be sure to check out the official trailer.
With Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders already making waves, the shooter genre is set for another big moment in November when Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 officially launches.
